Deep Tissue Neuromuscular Massage

Deep tissue massage is focused therapy for damaged or injured soft tissue, and is an excellent treatment for acute, chronic, and/or repetitive stress injuries. Known as Trigger Point Therapy, a Deep Tissue Neuromuscular Massage is a series of isolated pressure applications and releases.

Trigger Points are hyperirritable spots in the muscles and and/or fascia. Pressure is applied to the trigger point, until the tissue resists, and is held until there is a release of tension and reduction of pain. The brain releases endorphins (natural pain killers) and enkephalins that affect the central nervous system causing the relaxation response.
